Dear Wellsprings,

There is so much going on in the world, it can be overwhelming at times. As you may know, the governor decided yesterday to close schools for the rest of this school year. We want you to know that we are still here for you. We will continue to provide the quality connection and education, even if it must be from afar.

To accomplish this, we will begin offering more online credit options, as well as guided independent study. The teachers are working diligently this week to create excellent online classes to keep you engaged and learning during the school closure.

As a kick-off to this change, advisors will be reaching out to their students to arrange a Zoom video meeting 11am on Monday the 13th. We request that all students attend these meetings. You can download the Zoom app to either a smartphone or a laptop.

We want to ensure that everyone has the chance to earn credit and stay connected. If you need to borrow a chrome book and have not done so yet, please let us know and we will get you one. We know that some of our students are nervous about participating in “online school”. While we ask that all students make their best efforts to engage in online learning, for those that it is simply not possible for any reason, we will make arrangements by phone or email to provide independent learning opportunities.

For students with IEPs, we will be reviewing each to ensure that we can continue to meet those accommodations. Some IEP meetings will not be held until the schools reopen. For those that it is necessary to update sooner than that, we can conduct them over the phone or video chat.

Graduating seniors, special attention is being paid to make sure you still graduate.

I know everyone has a lot on their plate right now, but if you haven't already please and email me, gen@wellspringsfriends.org, that you have received this message, it will help us in our ability to best serve the students in this difficult time.

I wish you all the best.

Sincerely,

Gen
