This year’s Annual Fundraiser, The Toast “N” Roast, raised over $55,000!
A HUGE thank you to everyone who helped organize, participated in, and contributed to this year’s wonderfully successful event! The school needs these general operating funds so we can continue to help our students succeed. It was a fun evening that also raised awareness of our mission and work with teenagers among the many guests who were learning about Wellsprings for the first time.
This year’s event honored two long-time Eugene community leaders: Kitty Piercy and Dan Bryant. Storm Kennedy again guided the proceedings as our emcee. A delicious dinner was provided by guest chef Ib Hamide of Café Soriah and LCC chef Tim Hill. The roasters were Tony Corcoran, Paul Neville, Dave Funk, and Cheryl Crumbley. Music was provided by Fuzz, featuring none-other-than Wellsprings teacher Bob Schlichting on bass!
A special shout-out goes to Kari Welch, Development Associate, who worked tirelessly in organizing all aspects of the event. A new element in the evening was the “Voices of Wellsprings” presentation. Alumna Ayashe Ruiz Buenrostro spoke about the on-going influence Wellsprings has had on her life. She then was followed by a group of six people (students, parents, and a teacher) who each spoke about what Wellsprings means to them, in a brief but well-orchestrated and touching format.
What a fabulous evening! Thanks to all who made it and to all who contribute to our community in so many ways, big and small.
